OBITUARY
Devoted wife, loving mother, and loyal friend, Georgia
Sue (Taylor) Dolgener, 74, of Denton went to her heavenly home
on Friday, December 11th after a brief illness. She was the
beloved daughter of John S. Taylor and Virginia “Juffy” Blair
Taylor. Georgia was born on October 19, 1946 in rural Ponder. On
November 25 th 1967, she married the love of her life, Jimmy
Dolgener.
Georgia graduated from Ponder High school at the age of 17 and
went to North Texas State University (UNT). She graduated from
NTSU in 1967 with a bachelor’s degree in elementary education
and again with her master’s degree in 1970. After about 20 years
of teaching, she retired and went to work for FEMA for about 15
more years working in disaster assistance.
Georgia was a member of Singing Oaks Church of Christ. She had a
servant’s heart for the Lord. she had a passion for helping
others in need. She was never afraid to share her faith and pray
for her family, friends, and even strangers. She made it her
mission to encourage others with her warm smile, big hugs, or
words of encouragement. Even as she struggled with her own
depression, she still continued to encourage others with her
cards.
Georgia is preceded in death by her parents as well as her
mother-in-law and father-in-law Idella and Buddy Dolgener and
sisters-in-law, Sue Dolgener, Joyce Taylor, and Renee Lieb.
Survivors include her husband, Jimmy Dolgener at 53 years; her
daughter Teri Dolgener Burgoon and husband, Ben, of Sanger, TX.;
son, Matt Dolgener and wife, Deborah, of Rhome, TX. Four
grandchildren: Brittany Dolgener of Mansfield TX; Tyler Dolgener
of Roanoke TX, Austin and Ashlyn Burgoon of Sanger TX. Two Great
granddaughters Brooklynn and Bryleigh Dolgener. Two brothers;
James Taylor and wife Kay of Abernathy Texas; Strader Taylor of
Kansas City Missouri; brother-in-law Bob Dolgener and wife Cindy
of Ruidoso, NM as well as many nieces and nephews, cousins, and
friends that she loved dearly.
There will be a Celebration of Life at a later date. In lieu of
flowers, memorials may be made to Singing Oaks Church of Christ
Food Pantry or Arms of Hope. Please send either donation to 101
