OBITUARY

"Many women do noble things, but you surpass them all. Charm is deceptive and beauty is fleeting but a woman who fears the Lord is to be praised. Give her the reward she has earned, and let her works bring her praised at the city gate." (From the 31st Chapter of Proverbs)

Ruby Florene Doss passed April 21, 2024 and was the third daughter born to Frank and Clara Cloninger on September 27, 1931 in Collin County, Texas. She grew up in Farmersville and attended Carrollton High School. At just 16, she met and married Jimmie Doss. They had one child, James Michael Doss, born December 1948. They were married for 52 years until the death of Jimmie in 1999. They lived many places during their lives including California, Colorado, Georgia and Holland - but they mainly claimed Irving and the North Dallas area as home.
In 2001, Ruby was blessed with the love of Lester Buckner. They were married in Arlington and later moved to a peaceful country home in Canton, Texas. They shared 13 years until Lester's death in 2014.
Ruby is survived by her son, Mike Doss and wife Suzy; granddaughter, Sara Doss; grandson, Scott Stephens and wife Julie; great grandson Jesse Stephens; her sister, Margaret Orr of Stillwater, Oklahoma; step-daughter, Shannon Abbott; and many loving nieces, nephews and friends.
Ruby was a woman of great faith and served the Lord in every capacity by teaching young children in Sunday School, extended years with Bible Study Fellowship knowing God through His word, caring for those during illness, and her prayers never ended for everyone she loved in this world. She was a gifted seamstress, especially sewing fancy dresses for Sara, enjoyed a successful quilt crafting business, and was a licensed Realtor and Cosmetologist owning two of her own salons. Ruby loved nature, being outdoors and watching all God's creatures, especially in the last days of her life.
In addition to the loss of two loving husbands, Ruby is preceded in death by her parents; her sisters, Bernice Crouch and LaVerne Hudson, and great grandson Jacob Morgan Stephens.
Cherished and loved beyond description, a precious gift to our world, Ruby will be loved and remembered in our hearts and lives forever.
Services will be held on 2 p.m. April 30th, 2024 at Restland Funeral Home's Wildwood Chapel.
Pastor Mark Buckner will officiate her services.
