Susan Kent Drury
1943-2018

Susan Jennifer Kent was born in Mineral Wells, TX on November 7, 1943 and completed her life's journey on May 29, 2018. She grew up in Carrollton, TX with her mother Margaret, her father Everett and brother Steve Kent. Her fondest memories as a child were spent with her family on the farm in Mineral Wells.
She received her degree from North Texas State University and taught English at Spring Woods High School in Houston until she retired in 2003. Some of Susan's happiest times were spent traveling with her mother and son on automobile trips throughout the United States and with friends on excursions to Europe.
Susan loved decorating for holidays, and when she wasn't reading books or playing with her cats, she would enjoy watching documentaries and biographies. Her love of reading lead to her participation in several book clubs and time spent with her friends in the AAUW. Susan is survived by her son Gabe Drury, daughter-in-law Krista Drury and two grandchildren, Luke and Reese Drury. The family will be holding a private memorial in Jacksonville, Texas.
