OBITUARY
Mable
Dumas - Mable Inez Dumas, 79, of Greenville died Monday evening at
Presbyterian Hospital of Greenville. Funeral services are at 10 a.m.,
Thursday at Ridgecrest Baptist Church with Rev. Eddie Smith and Rev.
Harry Ball officiating. Burial is in Memoryland Memorial Park. The
daughter of John Emmett Gentry and Mable Duncan Gentry, she was born
Aug. 26, 1922, in Lewisville. On Sept 14, 1940, she was married to John
Robert "Jack" Dumas in Dallas. Mrs. Dumas was a homemaker. She was a
charter member of Ridgecrest Baptist Church, Pioneer Drive Baptist
Church in Abilene and Calvary Baptist Church in Santa Fe, N.M. Mrs.
Dumas was a Bible teacher at Ridgecrest for young married women for 32
years, directed the Ridgecrest Baptist Prayer Group for 18 years,
Inspiration Corner, Vacation Bible School for 18 years; directed
Operation Glory, corporate prayer for nine-plus years and directed
"Birthday for Jesus," an original concept of Christmas celebration for
10 years. She made "Time Alone with God" folders from 1972 to present
and "Mind Programmers" from 1979 to present. She was a 30-year member of
Study Club, Eclecta Club City Federation of Greenville.
Mrs. Dumas is survived by her husband of Greenville; son and
daughter-in-law John Scott and Sharon Dumas of Denton and a grandson,
Jonathan Dumas of Denton. A granddaughter, Stephanie Leigh Dumas,
preceded her in death in January 1982. Memorials may be made to
Ridgecrest Baptist Church for the benefit of Spanish Mission. Visitation
is from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Coker-Matthews Funeral Home. Source:
