OBITUARY
DUNN, F. ADELE LONG Beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother took
up a new residence in Heaven on Tuesday, May 8, 2007. She was preceded in death
by her husband, Owen Gale Dunn. Born November 26, 1914 to Walter and Etta Long
in Eliasville Texas. She moved to Graham, Texas, at age three and attended
school there until she went to North Texas State College, now the University of
North Texas in Denton, Texas She and Gale were united in marriage on August 24,
1937. She attended Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Fort Worth where
she gained training to work alongside her husband in ministering to Baptist
churches for the next fifty-five years in Tennessee, Arkansas, Louisiana, and
Texas. Her life's joy included ministering in Sunday School, training new
leaders, directing children's choirs, visiting, teaching kindergarten, being a
member of the choir and leading Senior Adults. After retirement from the local
church, she and her husband were volunteers with the Home Mission Board-Missions
Service Corps of the Southern Baptist Convention and Baptist General Convention
of Texas helping churches organize activities for Senior Adults. They also
participated in mission trips to spread the gospel of Jesus Christ to Spain,
Brazil, New Zealand, Australia, Washington State, and Canada. After her
husband's death in 1993, she continued being an active and vital influence in
the life of her church, The Heights Baptist Church, in Richardson, Texas. For
the last four years she has been a resident of the Apple Tree Court in
Richardson Adele is survived by her daughter, Dorothy Gale, and her adopted
daughter Cindy Rau of Arlington., her son, Richard A."Dickie" Dunn and his wife,
DeRema, of Sunnyvale, granddaughter Denel Prater of Mesquite; granddaughter
Dannah Rogers and husband Jeff of Sunnyvale, grandson, Derek Dunn, of Sunnyvale,
and three great-grandchildren, Zachary Prater, and Camden and Cason Rogers.
Family will receive friends Thursday, May 10, at Restland 6-8 p.m.. Graveside
Service, 9 a.m. at Restland Memorial Park A Memorial Service 11 a.m., Friday May
11, 2007 at The Heights Baptist Church, 201 West Renner Rd in Richardson TX .and
the Town Hall Estates in Arlington, where she has spread happiness and joy
through her humorous spirit, positive attitude, and unfailing faith. Restland
