OBITUARY
LUBBOCK
— Patricia Herndon Encke, 56, of Lubbock, lost a courageous battle with
cancer on Thursday, June 29, 2006, at her home surrounded by family and
friends. She was born April 12, 1950, to Florence (Wilkinson) and
Charles Herndon in Abilene, Texas. Pat graduated from Anson High School
and the University of North Texas.
Pat married Jim Lindsey Encke on August 5, 1969, in San Angelo, Texas.
They had 37 wonderful years together.
Celebration of Life Services will be held at LakeRidge Methodist Church
in Lubbock at 1 p.m. Saturday, July 1, 2006, with John Burk officiating.
Graveside services will be held at 4:30 p.m. at Mount Hope Cemetery in
Anson, Texas, conducted by Richard Payne.
Pat taught school for 30 years in Grapevine-Colleyville ISD,
Carrolton-Farmers Branch ISD, and Frenship ISD. Pat devoted her life to
her students, families, and faculty at Crestview Elementary. She was a
loving wife, dedicated mother, and caring teacher. She was a member of
the LakeRidge Methodist Church and was active in the Frenship School
community.
Those left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Patricia Lindsey;
husband, Jim; mother, Florence Herndon of Abilene, Texas; and brother,
Mike Herndon and wife Roberta of Anson, Texas. Pat is preceded in death
by her father, Charles Marion Herndon.
Family has requested that memorials be sent to MD Anderson Cancer
Center, Department of Sarcoma Medical Oncology, Unit 450, 1515 Holcombe
Blvd. 51, Houston, Texas 77030-4095, in honor of Pat.

Lindsey Encke of Lubbock and Cody Lubojasky of Sugar Land were united in
marriage July 6, 2007 at the First United Methodist Church in Grapevine,
TX. The ceremony was performed by the groom's uncle, Andy Brown.
The bride is the daughter of Jim Encke and the late Patricia Encke of
Lubbock.
The groom is the son of Doug and Sheila Lubojasky of Sugar Land, TX.
Lindsey is a 2007 graduate of Texas Tech University and is employed by
the Ft. Bend Co. Chamber of Commerce. Cody attends the University of
Houston and majors in Kinesiology.
They reside in Sugar Land, TX.Lubbock Online
