OBITUARY
William O. "Bill" Fischer, Jr.
July 21, 1928 - March 20, 2006
William O. "Bill" Fischer, Jr., age 77, of McKinney, Texas, passed away March
20, 2006, in McKinney. He was born July 21, 1928, in Dallas, Texas, to William
Oscar and Thelma Marie (Wirth) Fischer. He served in the U. S. Army during the
Korean War. On November 14, 1952, he married Peggy Person in Dallas, Texas, and
on September 2, 1989, he married Wanda LaFollette in McKinney. Mr. Fischer was
the owner and president of Fischer Ford, Inc. from 1960-1980 and the owner of
Fischer Lube Center from 1985 to present. He was a member and Elder of First
Presbyterian Church of McKinney. He was a member of Ducks Unlimited, the Masonic
Lodge in Dallas, Texas, and served on the Board of McKinney Country Club for
many years. He also served on the McKinney City Council from 1974 to 1978. He is
survived by his wife, Wanda Fischer of McKinney, Texas; daughters, Arlene Fowler
and her husband, Wilson E. Fowler, Jr. of Melissa, Texas, and Suzy Fischer of
McKinney, Texas; stepdaughter, Danny Wagoner and her husband, Ed of Kerrville,
Texas; grandchildren, Jennifer Henderson and her husband, Don of McKinney,
Texas, Matthew Scott Fowler and his wife, Erin of Round Rock, Texas, Dodd
Wagoner of Kerrville, Texas, Shanan Wagoner and his wife, Miryam of San Antonio,
Texas; and Darby Wagoner and his wife, Terrie of Waco, Texas;
great-grandchildren, Paige Klatt, Hannah Fowler, Emma Henderson, Whitney
Wagoner, Parker Wagoner, and Caroline Wagoner. He was preceded in death by his
wife, Peggy Person Fischer, and sons, William Donald Fischer and Brian David
Fischer. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 A.M., Thursday, March 23, 2006,
at the First Presbyterian Church in McKinney with Dr. John Blacklock oficiating.
Interment will follow at Crown Hill Memorial Park in Dallas. Visitation with the
family will be from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M., Wednesday, at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow
Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to the First Presbyterian Church Building
Fund, 2000 W. White Ave., McKinney, TX 75069. |
