PATSY JOYCE FLOWERS

FLOWERS, Patsy Joyce Patsy Joyce Dagnell Smith Flowers died in
Rockwall, Texas .on Monday, March 28, 2016 at the age of 83. Patsy is
survived by her husband, Garland Ray Flowers; daughter, Louann Smith and
daughter and son-in-law Jo Ellen and Robert Sholl; grandchildren, Alysia
Smith, Jason Andrew Smith, Jessica Smith, Katherine Sholl and Stephen
Sholl; one great granddaughter and stepchildren Lynn Morgan, Larry
Flowers, John Flowers, Lori Pence, Leslie Simms, and Lisa Hundt. She is
preceded in death by her first husband David James Smith; son David
James Smith II; parents Joe T. and Ruby Blanche Dagnell; brother Joe
Doyle Dagnell and sister Peggy Lou Dagnell McLean. Patsy was born on
April 10, 1932 in Maypearl, Texas to Joe T. and Ruby Blanche Dagnell.
She graduated from Carrollton High School, Carrollton, Texas, St. Paul
School of Nursing and East Texas State University. She married David in
1953 after meeting on a blind date. She worked at St. Paul Hospital in
Dallas, Bethania Hospital in Wichita Falls, and Doctors Hospital in
Dallas where she served as Director of the L VN School of Nursing and
Quality Assurance Administrator. After David died in 1984, Patsy spent
her time travelling, working, playing with grandchildren, and being
active in her church, White Rock United Methodist Church in Dallas. In
1998, she reconnected with an old friend, Garland Ray Flowers, also
widowed, and they married on February 20, 1999. Patsy and Garland, who
moved to Rockwall in 2000, enjoyed travelling, gardening, square
dancing, time with friends and family, and being active in their church,
the First United Methodist Church of Rockwall, Texas. A funeral is
scheduled for 10:00 AM, April 1st at First United Methodist Church in
Rockwall with a lunch reception to follow at the First United Methodist
Church of Rockwall. Joe Pool, Senior Pastor will officiate the ceremony.
Burial will be held at Restland of Dallas, 13005 Greenville Avenue,
Dallas, Texas 75243. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Patsy's
