Gerald Raymond Fournier, Jr.
(July 17, 1954 - December 15, 2011)
Gerald Fournier, Jr., 57, of Huntsville, Alabama [sic} passed away on Thursday,
December 15, 2011 after a two year battle with neck and throat cancer.
He is survived by a daughter, Meredith Lynn Fournier of Huntsville, Alabama, his
parents Peggy and Gerald Fournier, his sisters and brothers-in-law Susan and Tad
Grimmer and Betty and Brian Fling.
Jerry was born in Biloxi, Mississippi on July 17, 1954. His family moved to the
Dallas area in 1957 following his father’s graduation from LSU. He attended R. L.
Turner High School where he forged friendships with Tad Grimmer and Van Vaux.
The three young men would compete against each other in state math competitions,
JETS contests and for college scholarships, yet, through it all they remained
friends with ties that lasted a lifetime.
Jerry attended Texas A&M University, College Station and the University of Texas
at Arlington earning a B.S. and M.S. in Electrical Engineering. Throughout
college, he worked for LTV Aerospace as a co-op student. After graduating he
moved to Huntsville, Alabama to accept a position with Kentron International,
Inc. While employed by Kentron, he had the opportunity to live and work on the
Kwajalein Islands for several years. After returning to the States, he was
employed by Intergraph Corporation as a computer engineer working on various
military contracts involving computer mapping. A funeral Mass and internment
will be held at 9:30a.m., Wednesday, December 28, at
Mary Immaculate Catholic
Church, 2800 Valwood Parkway, Farmers Branch, Texas.
Gerald was born on July 17, 1954 and passed away on Thursday, December 15,
2011.
Gerald was a resident of Huntsville, Texas at the time of his passing.
He attended R.L. Turner High School where he forged friendships with Tad Jerry
attended Texas A&M University, College Station and the University of Texas at
Arlington earning a B.S. and M.S. in Electrical Engineering. Throughout college
Grimmer and Van Vaux.
A funeral Mass and internment will be held at 9:30a.m., Wednesday, December 28,
at Mary Immaculate Catholic Church, 2800 Valwood Parkway, Farmers Branch, Texas. |
