OBITUARY Services Will Be Held Monday for Veteran
Schoolteacher Services for Mrs. Elizabeth Keiper
Furneaux, who taught in the Dallas public schools more than forty years,
will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at the Brewer Funeral Chapel 3603 Ross.
Methodist Bishop John M. Moore and the Rev. Marshall T. Steele, pastor
of the Highland Park Methodist Church will officiate.
Mrs. Furneaux, wife of W. C.
Furneaux of Carrollton, died Friday in Dallas.
Born Nov 24, 1866 at Port Lavaca, Calhoun County, she was brought to
Dallas in 1876 by her parents. Her teaching career included long tenures
in the primary departments of the Stephen F. Austin and City Park
Schools.
For many years she was a member of the First Methodist Church where she
was a teacher in the Sunday school. At the time of death she was a
member of the Highland Park Methodist Church.
In addition to her husband she is survived by a sister, Miss Annie
Keiper, Dallas.
Pallbearers will be Tom L. McCollough, Henry Jacoby, Frank Reedy, Louis
W. Blaylock, Arthur Mathis and E. H. Morgan.
Burial will be in the
Furneaux Cemetery north of Carrollton. The Dallas Morning
