OBITUARY Editor Found Shot to Death
HOUSTON, Texas (AP) - John L. Furneaux, Jr., 55, editor of the
Houston Chronicle's "Your Home" section, was found dead at his home
Thursday.
Investigators said Mr. Furneaux had been shot in the chest and that a
.22 pistol was near the body.
Mr. Furneaux formerly was editor of the Chronicle's "Texas" Magazine. He
joined the Chronicle staff in 1946 after moving here from Dallas.
Survivors include the widow and a daughter.
Funeral service will be held Friday. Burial will be in Dallas.
