OBITUARY MRS. GARRETT DIES AT FARMERS BRANCH
Mrs. Leona Garrett, who lived on the S. T. Jordan place, south of Farmers
Branch, died last Friday night of pneumonia, growing out of the influenza. She
was better on the Sunday previous to her death, and got up that she might assist
with the other members of the family who were also sick, but the next day she
relapsed and grew continually worse until her death. The family had
been in Texas for only about three weeks, having come from Tennessee, and soon
after their arrival were all taken sick. There survive Mrs. Garrett, a husband
and six children, the youngest being less than a year old. Mrs. Garrett
was converted and joined the Baptist church when sixteen years of age and lived
a true Christian life until she went "to the home over there." May this fact be
an inspiration and consolation to her companion and children in their trying
hours. The Chronicle expresses the deepest sympathy for them. Burial
was had at the Farmers
Branch cemetery. Rev. Guy F. Jones conducted the service. The
