OBITUARY

Stacy Ann Garrett
December 21, 1970 - June 11, 2024

It is with profound sorrow that we announce our beloved sister Stacy Ann Garrett of Prosper, Texas passed away on June 11, 2024 at 53 years old. She lost her battle with Osteonecrosis and Dementia which she battled for several years. Stacy was our Christmas baby born on December 21, 1970 to Murl W. Garrett and Mary Katherine Garrett in Dallas, Texas. Although Stacy was born with Down's Syndrome she graduated from R. L. Turner High School in Carrollton, Texas.

Stacy loved her day to day activities of watching classic TV shows and doing her "homework" of writing sight words. Stacy was always ready to go on cruises or to the casino with the family. The phrase "Dance like nobody is watching" truly personified Stacy. Stacy loved to sing and dance and she didn't care if anyone was watching but she really shined when she had an audience. But, her favorite thing in the world to do was to go shopping. She would get up in the morning and ask, “Do you feel like driving?” Stacy loved to go places and see and meet new people. She might not remember you but was always thrilled to see you.

Stacy is predeceased by both her father Murl W. Garrett and her mother Mary K. Starrett. Stacy is survived by her three older sisters, Cathy Harris of Prosper, Texas; Charlie Blackmore of Prosper, Texas; and Donna Owens of Prosper, Texas. Stacy also has 4 nephews, Christopher Harris of Petaluma, CA, Jason Busby of Decatur, TX, Bradley Burleson of Sherman, TX and Clifford Burleson of Denison, TX. She is survived by a great niece Megan Harris and seven great-nephews, Devin Harris, Logan Harris, Garrett Busby, Jordan Burleson, Maddix Burleson, Mason Burleson, and Mavrick Burleson. Stacy also had 2 great-great nephews and a great-great niece.

Stacy was truly a soul filled with pure white light. She was our angel of love and we feel so very privileged to have had her in our lives. Her Celebration of Life will be held in private at a later date.
