IN THE CARE OF
Grove Hill Funeral Home & Memorial Park
Trinidad Palma Garza, age 70, passed peacefully into eternity on April
13, 2022, in Dallas, Texas, after a brief battle with pancreatic cancer.
The youngest daughter of Richard and Virginia Palma, Trini was born on
June 25, 1951, in Dallas, Texas. Her childhood was filled with lots of
love and laughter with older brother Ramiro and older sister Lydia. She
was raised in Carrollton, Texas, and graduated from R. L. Turner High
School in 1969. She went on to attend Howard Payne University and earned
her degree in elementary education. She made many lifelong friends
during her time in college. As she began a new life in Galveston as a
preschool school teacher, she was blessed to marry into the Garza family
in the summer of 1974. Trini and Jesse Garza welcomed their beautiful
daughter Jessica in November 1981. Trini dedicated her entire life to
her family and found her greatest bond with her daughter, Jessica.
Trini found so much purpose in her career. She enjoyed teaching
kindergarten for Texas City ISD. She loved her students and the amazing
family of teachers she taught with. In 1991, Trini completed her
Master’s Degree from University of Houston in Clear Lake. With a new
outlook on life, Trini and Jessica made a new home in Carrollton, Texas.
Trini gladly accepted a position as Assistant Principal for Vivian Field
Middle School for Carrollton Farmers Branch ISD. After serving at Vivian
Field for a few years, Trini moved into a role in Human Resources for
CFB ISD. She enjoyed recruiting new teachers as well as offering
teaching positions to so many excited and gifted educators. She poured
all she could into her role and found so much fulfillment in working
alongside her brilliant team in administration. She was privileged to
work with so many incredible people during her decades-long tenure. She
retired as Executive Director of Personnel in January 2017.
Trini’s true passion in life was serving as a member of First Baptist
Church at the Fields in Carrollton, Texas. Her deepest, kindred
friendships were forged in living life with those from her church body.
Trini was honored to serve as a Sunday school teacher for children and
women for over 20 years. She took so much care in preparing lessons for
her class, and she never tired of studying her Bible. She also served on
a few different committees over the years. She looked back at her time
at First Baptist with so much gratitude. While she was in hospice, she
found great comfort in visiting and praying with her church family.
Trini found laughter and comfort in her extended family. She loved being
with her parents, sister, brother, aunts, uncles, nephews, nieces, and
cousins. In her large family, there was always a party to help host or
attend. She often traveled with her parents and daughter to visit
relatives all over Texas. She also enjoyed seeing her extended family
each year at the Rodriguez Family Reunions. Trini took care of her
family and enjoyed all the time they were able to spend together,
especially over the last year. She truly embodied the values instilled
in her by her parents, and she was a blessing to her family. She will be
remembered as a generous, joyful, hopeful, loving, and strong woman.
Trini’s greatest joy was being “Lita” (grandmother) to Smith. She
retired the week Smith was born and became his very best friend. Trini
always had a craft, preschool lesson, gift, or little adventure planned
for Smith. She spent her last 5 years giving her life away to Jessica,
Joshua, and Smith. Even during her cancer battle, Trini made her family
her priority. She especially loved to travel to the beach with her kids
and had made 3 trips to Galveston during the last year. She was hopeful
for the future and made plans to move to Nashville with Jessica, Joshua
and Smith within the year. While she was not able to fulfill that new
dream, her family has many plans to honor her in their new home.
A memorial service celebrating the life of Trinidad Palma Garza will
take place on Saturday, May 7, at First Baptist Church at the Fields in
Carrollton, Texas, at 2:00pm.
In memory of Trini, her family respectfully asks that donations be made
to the Friendship House (First Baptist Church at the Fields) 3733 N
Josey Lane Suite 103, Carrollton, Texas 75007 |
