OBITUARY Tom Gentry
Funeral services for Tom Gentry, 84, of 116 W. College, will be held at 10
a.m. Tuesday at St. Andrew Presbyterian Church. The Rev. John Braly will
officiate. Burial will be at Cemetery Hill Cemetery near Carrollton.
Mr. Gentry died Sunday morning at Westgate Hospital.
He was born Oct 1, 1890, in Montevallo, Ala. He married Elizabeth Isabelle
Morgan in 1926 in Dallas. She preceded him in death in February 1967. He was a
member of St. Andrew Presbyterian Church. Mr. Gentry was a veteran of World War
I, a Denton resident since 1939 and a custodian at Denton County Courthouse for
25 years.
Survivors include two daughters, Elizabeth McNear of El Toro, Calif.; and Mary
Ashby of Oklahoma City, Okla.; four sisters, May Ehle, Wilma Todd, Mrs. Jim
Hopper, all of Dallas, and Ann Thornton of Fort Worth; two brothers, J. D.
Gentry of Denton and Bob Gentry of Lewisville; six grandchildren; and one
great-grandchild.
Goen Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
