OBITUARY
Homer A. Giles Sr.
HURST - Homer Adolphus Giles, Sr. of Hurst, a retired builder and real
estate man and dairy farmer, died Monday at a Hurst nursing center. he was 88.
Funeral will be at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at Lucas Funeral Home in Hurst. Burial
will be at 3:15 p.m. Thursday in Furneaux Cemetery in Carrollton. The family
will receive friends from 7 to 8 tonight at the funeral home.
Mr. Giles was born in Bridgeport and lived in Hurst for many years. He was a
builder and in real estate since 1952 and was a dairy farmer for many years. He
retired in 1973.
Mr. Giles was a member of Richland Hills Baptist Church.
Survivors: None sons, Homer Adolpnus Giles Jr. Bobby Frazier Giles and Paul
Giles, all of Fort Worth, Horace Landon Giles and Raymon Harold Giles, both of
Richland Hills, Douglas Elbert Giles of Chula Vista, Calif., Walter Gene Giles
of Fullbrook, Calif., Gary Martin Giles of Hurst and Billy Wayne Giles of
Everman; three brothers, Forrest B. Giles of Fort Worth, Ray Giles of Decatur
and J.E. Giles Jr. of Bridgeport; two sisters, Florence Swain of Azle and Lela
Flywell of Paradise; 35 grandchildren; 52 great-grandchildren; and two
great-great-grandchildren.
