OBITUARY GLIDEWELL, ROY LEE "BIG BOY"
76, Glidewell,
Roy Lee "Big Boy". Born on March 22, 1931 in Carrollton Texas, he passed away on
September 17th at his home in Coppell after a lengthy illness with COPD. He
served in the United States Army from July of 1948 until October of 1951. He
then became employed at Gravely Tractor Company and eventually retired after 21
years. After retirement he worked as a substitute postman and managed a Texaco
station in Coppell. He enjoyed collecting old coins and bald eagles, and he
loved to watch old westerns on television. He was preceded in death by his
parents, Tommy and Lorena Glidewell; 3 brothers, James,
Roscoe, and Garth; and 1
granddaughter, Stephanie Howard. He is survived by his wife of 58 years,
Mildred; 2 daughters, Sharon Howard and husband Sam of Tularosa, New Mexico,
Debbie Stanford and husband Keith of Gladewater, Texas; 2 sons, Mike Glidewell
and wife Cheri of Westcliffe, Colorado, James Glidewell, of Bonham, Texas; 2
brothers, Troy Glidewell and wife Pat of Coppell, Texas, Robert Glidewell and
wife Sandy of Quitman, Texas; 1 sister, Marie Eudy of Quitman, Texas; 13
grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins,
and friends. Visitation will be September 19, 2007 6-8 PM. Funeral Service will
be September 20, 2007 at 2:00 PM at Rhoton Funeral Home, Interment at
Hilltop Memorial Park. In lieu
of flowers, donations may be made to American Lung Association.
