OBITUARY J. W. GOOD DEAD
At his home in South Decatur, last Sunday afternoon, J. W. Good died of
Typhoid fever after an illness of five weeks.
Mr. Good's home place if five miles south of Slidell, but had resided for the
pat four or five years in Decatur for the benefit of the Decatur schools.
He was highly respected ay all who intimately knew him. Early in life he made a
personal profession of faith in Christ and united with the Baptist cvhruch. He
was a man of intrinsic worth, exemplary in life, just and honorable in his
dealings with his fellowman. Borrowing the words of a Decatur merchant, "He was
a gold dollar."
Mr. Good was born and reared near Farmers Branch, Dallas county, removing to
Denton county, near Slidell, about eight years ago.
At the age of eighteen he married Miss Julia Butler and until separated by death
they were devoted companions. Seven children were born to this union, six of
whom are living.
In the prime of life, death took him; in his fortieth year, full of energy and
hope.
His remains were interred at the city cemetey Monday noon under the auspices of
Decatur Camp of the Woodmen of the World.
