OBITUARY

Death Claims Mrs. May Gravley

Mrs. May E. Gravley, better known as  May Jake, passed away Sept. 23 in her home at the age of 88 years, four months and 14 days.

Funeral services were held in the First United Methodist Church in Carrollton Sept. 25. Interment was in Restland Memorial Park with  Rhoton-Weiland - Merritt Funeral Home in charge of services.

She was born in Denton County May 9, 1881, and was united in marriage to Jacob Gravley Dec. 8, 1901, and settled in Dallas County. She lived in Carrollton 53 years.

She was a member of the First United Methodist Church, life member of WSCS and PTA and charter member of Farmers Branch Chapter No 687 of O.E.S.

Mrs. Gravley was the mother of five children, four of them surviving. Surviving are her husband; two daughters, Miss Lula Gravley and Mrs. Lee Ammons of Carrollton; two sons, John L. Gravley of Mesquite, and J. W. Gravley of San Antonio; sister, Mrs. Joe C. Cobb of Lewisville; brother, I. W. Lord of Denison; nine grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.
