OBITUARY
 

Carl Joe Grimes
November 01, 1930 - October 20, 2021

Carl Joe Grimes passed away on Oct. 20, 2021, in Plano, TX. Born on November 1, 1930, in Hebron, TX, he was the son of Eddy and Rebecca Grimes. He and his wife Margie shared 67 years together. He served in the Army from 1949-1951 as a Medic. He was then employed at Texas A&M as a Field Technician in agricultural research. He was a long-time member of First Baptist Church Hebron where he enjoyed serving as a deacon and Sunday School teacher. He also loved spending time with his grandchildren, working on word puzzles or in the garden.

He is survived by his wife, Margie, daughters, Cathy, Carla (Ben), Cyndy and Michelle (JJ); grandchildren, James, Kerrie, Ashley, Leslie, Daniel, Katie, Heather, Aaron; great-grandchildren, Madison, Zachary, Brintson, Sydneigh, Aspen, Bailey, Xander, Zane, Robbie, Mackenzie, Hunter, and Kaitlyn.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Eddy and Rebecca, brothers Clyde, Oscar, DT, Bill, Roy, Frank, and sisters Margaret, Sallie and Lois, great-grandchildren Wyatt and Killian.

The funeral service will be held on Thursday, October 28 at 11 am at First Baptist Church Hebron, 3000 East Hebron Pkwy, Carrollton, TX 75010, with interment at the Furneaux Cemetery, 3701 Cemetery Hill Road, Carrollton, TX 75007. A visitation will be held at 10 am prior to the service. Flowers may be sent to Mulkey-Mason Funeral Home, 740 South Edmonds Lane, Lewisville, TX 75067. Memorial Donations made be sent to the First Baptist Hebron Building Fund, 3000 East Hebron Pkwy, Carrollton, TX 75010.
