OBITUARY

Kristen Louise Grimes
February 2, 1995 - February 7, 2024

Kristen Louise Grimes, age 29, was born February 2, 1995, in Carrollton, Texas, and died February 7, 2024, in Dallas, Texas after complications from a sudden illness.

From the moment Kristen was born, she commanded the room and lit it up with her smile. She will be remembered for that radiant smile, her kind open heart and infectious “Kristen” laugh – so infectious, even she had to laugh more. Kristen, one of the three Grimes Girls, was drawn to performing and anything girly - the color pink, dresses, dancing, drill team, Drama Club but also loved Volleyball and Softball. Although sister rivalry existed, they knew Kristen was their biggest cheerleader and fan! She graduated from Mary Immaculate school in 2009 and went on to graduate from Creekview High School in 2013.

When her daughter Avery was born, Kristen found a purpose and a love that she could never have imagined. From then on, she was committed to building a happy life for Avery. Kristen went back to school to earn a teaching degree and for the first time in her academic career, she excelled. She finished with straight As, earning Dean’s List and Cum Laude distinction. She met the blows of a new MS diagnosis, raising a beautiful young daughter at the same time. Kristen was so excited for the future with her loves – Avery and her fiancée, Savon.

Survived by: daughter Avery Louise Grimes-Logan; fiancée Savon Logan; parents Michelle & Lanny Grimes; sisters Jordan Bell-Grimes (Emily Bell-Grimes) and Megan Grimes; nephew Peyton Bell-Grimes; aunts Nanette Dion, Rosemary Dion, Denise Dion (Judith Baker) and Sarah Nickerson (Bobby); uncles Dennis Dion and Mark Warren; cousins Chris Grimes, Cari Bishop, Dawn Warren, Mitch Warren, Claire Davis (Steve), Sophia Dion; grandfather: Carl Grimes (Sandy); great-aunt and uncle Geraldine Savard and James Savard along with numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and extended family.

Preceded in death by grandmothers Mavis Dion and Roma Menzo; grandfather Martin Dion; cousin Christopher Arrey; and aunt Carleen Warren.

She will be deeply missed by her family and friends and all those whose lives she touched.
