Carolyn Inez Gurley, 50
A service for Carolyn Inez
Gurley, 50, Bennington, who passed away Saturday, Aug. 14, 2004, at her
residence, will be held in the Brown's Funeral Service Chapel Tuesday at 2 p.m.
Rev. Matthew Lewis Gurley will officiate.
Carolyn was born April 18, 1954, in Grapevine, Texas, to Inez Coupland. She
attended and graduated from R.L. Turner High School and came to Oklahoma from
Dallas in 1999. Carolyn worked as a homemaker and also had performed clerical
work in Dallas, Texas. She was of the Baptist faith and enjoyed reading, puzzles
and playing with grandchildren. She will be greatly missed.
She was preceded in death be her parents.
Carolyn is survived by children Shannon Jackson and husband Brent, Bennington,
Laura Olivarez, Arlington, Texas, and Richard L. Gurley, Arlington;
grandchildren Dakota, Jessie, Josiah and Jasmine; sisters Sharron Cross, Farmers
Branch, Texas, and Janice Mensch, Carrollton, Texas; brother Jon Mark Coupland,
Arlington; special friends Dorothy Jackson, Bennington, Connie McCoy, Sulpher
Springs, Texas, and Matthew Gurley and wife Joann, Farmers Branch; niece Amy
Cross, Carrollton, and many other relatives and a host of dear friends.
Interment will be in Jackson Cemetery in Bennington with Clyde Coupland, Chris
Gurley, Waylon Gurley, Andrew Wingfield and Brian Jackson serving as
pallbearers. Honorary bearers will be Mike Cross and Richard Gurley Sr.
We love you and greatly miss you Mamma!
Family hour will be today from 7 - 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
Memorials may be made to the Jackson Cemetery.
Brown's Funeral Service is handling the arrangements.

Inez (Coupland)
Gurley, age 50, who was born April 18, 1954, passed away on August 14,
2004 at her residence in Bennington, Oklahoma of heart problems, which she had
fought for years.
She was raised in Carrollton, attended and graduated from R. L. Turner High
School and moved to Oklahoma from Dallas in 1999. In Carrollton she worked for
many companies. She began early on by working at Dairy Queen while in school ad
then later began doing clerical work for Southwest Credit .
Carolyn was a Baptist by faith and enjoyed reading , puzzles, and playing
with her grandchildren.
Carolyn
is preceded in death by her parents.
She had three children who survive her; Shannon and husband, Brent Jackson of
Bennington, Oklahoma; Laura Olivarez of Arlington, Texas; and Richard L.
Gurley II, of Arlington; three grandsons; Dakota, Jessie, Josiah and
granddaughter, Jasmine.
Carolyn is also survived by sisters and brothers-in-law; Sharron and Mike
Cross of Farmers Branch and Janice and Bud Mensch of Carrollton; and one
brother, John Mark Coupland of Arlington. Other survivors include; one niece,
Amy Cross of Carrollton, Texas; several nephews; special friends; Dorothy
Jackson of Bennington, Connie McCoy of Sulphur Springs, Texas; Matthew and Joann
Gurley of Farmers Branch; as well as a host of other relatives and dear
friends.
Services were held at Brown's Funeral Service Chapel in Durant, Oklahoma on
August 17, 2004 at 2:00 p.m. with Matthew Lewis
Gurley officiating.
Interment was held
in Jackson Cemetery in Bennington with Pallbearers included Clyde Coupland,
Waylon
Gurley, Tommy Manley, Andrew Wingfield, Chris
Gurley and Brian Jackson; and honorable pallbearers were Mike Cross, Bud
Mensch, and Richard
Gurley, Jr.
We will miss and love you always, Baby Sister, love Sharron Cross.
