OBITUARY

HALCOMB, NETTIE, left this life to meet her Lord Jesus on August 10, 2004 in Farmers Branch, TX. Born June 20, 1920 in Ben Wheeler , Van Zant county, TX. Nettie was one of ten children born to Donie Beam Gilbert and Oscar Gilbert. A sister introduced her to Almond M. Halcomb from Edom, Texas and they married on June 20, 1941 in San Antonio, TX where Almond was stationed in the Army. Nettie waited for his return in LaCrosse, Wisconsin, where he was transferred before being shipped overseas as a sergeant in the infantry. In 1946, they moved back to Texas and resided in Oak Cliff until moving to Carrollton , TX. A resident of Carrollton , TX for forty years, she was retired from M.E. Moses and Co. Baptized in the Baptist faith, she was totally devoted to her family and enjoyed a passed membership with her daughter in the Farmers Branch Woman's Club. She is preceded in death by her parents; eight brothers and sisters; husband, Almond M. Halcomb; sons, Randy Jeff Halcomb and Ronald Lynn Halcomb. She is survived by son, Kenneth Wayne Halcomb and wife, Linda; daughter, A.J. Cotton and husband, Dale. Grandchildren, Brian Berryman, Kelly Collier and husband, Curtis; Susan Kay Brown and husband, Scott; Kristina Halcomb; Maria Halcomb; Jeffery Halcomb and wife, Carrie. Great grandchildren, Trevor and Hunter Berryman, Abigail and Emily Brown, Candace and Clayton Collier, Dillon Halcomb, James Halcomb and Mackenzie Bridges. Family to receive friends from 7-9 PM Friday, August 13, 2004 at Restland Funeral Home and the graveside service will be at 10:00 AM Saturday, August 14, 2004 at Restland Memorial Park Restland 972-238-7111 restlandfuneralhome.com
