OBITUARY
HALE
AUTIE J. Services for Autie J. Hale, 65, of Carrollton, Texas, will be Sunday,
March 24, 2002, at 2:00PM at Rhoton Funeral Home of Carrollton, Texas with Rev.
Rip Cannon, Pastor of First Baptist Church officiating. Interment will follow
the services at Furneaux Cemetery in Carrollton, TX. Visitation will be
Saturday, March 23, 2002, from 6-8 at the funeral home. Autie died on Friday,
March 22, 2002, after being hospitalized for a short time in Trinity Medical
Center. She was born on December 17, 1916 in Farmers Branch to R. C. and Mae
Hale of Carrollton and had been one of seven children. She had lived in
Carrollton of her life. Having made peace with her Lord at an early age, she was
a long time member of the First Baptist Church. She graduated from Carrollton
High School, and from a business school in Dallas. She worked at St. Paul's
Hospital insurance department for several years, and later worked for Mary
Wood's Insurance Company until her retirement. Following retirement, Autie began
volunteering to help senior citizens of Carrollton with their Medicare
insurance. She had been a member of Eastern Stars for many years. In her later
years she enjoyed playing with her ukulele band. She had many friends, and was
known as a vivacious person with a positive attitude. She was preceded in death
by her parents, Mr. & Mrs. R. C. Hale, three brothers, Charlie Hale, Ernest
(Cotton) Hale and Tony E. Hale, and one sister, Ruby Gravely. She is survived by
one sister and brother-in-law, Louise and Ross Boykin of Big Spring, Texas, and
by one brother, Hubert Hale of Malakoff, Texas. She is also survived by numerous
nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. Memorial contributions may be
made to favorite charities

OBITUARY
Autie J. Hale
Autie J. Hale, a lifelong Carrollton resident, died March 22 at Trinity Medical
Center after a brief hospitalization. She was 85.
Services were Sunday at Rhoton Funeral Home in Carrollton, and burial was at
Furneaux Cemetery in
Carrollton.
Ms. Hale was born on Dec. 17, 1916, in Farmers Branch. She was one of seven
children.
She graduated from Carrollton High School and a business school. She worked in
the insurance department of St. Paul's Hospital for several years and later at
Mary Wood's Insurance Company until her retirement.
After retirement, Ms. Hale volunteered with senior citizens, helping them with
Medicare claims. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star. She played
the ukulele with the Carrollton Strummers and was a longtime member of the First
Baptist Church.
Ms. Hale is survived by a sister and brother-in-law, Louise and Ross Boykin of
Big Spring, Texas; and brother Hubert Hale of Malakoff, Texas.
Memorials may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.The Dallas
