OBITUARY

Hall, Mac Stuart
7/1/1929 5/19/2014

Born to Mac Thomas and Jewel Mayfield Hall in San Angelo, TX, Mac grew up in North Texas and California. He enjoyed scouting and earned the rank of Eagle Scout. After graduating from SMU in 1951, he worked as a Petroleum Landman and Commercial Realtor. He loved sailboat racing, downhill skiing, piloting small aircraft, travel, photography, history and great conversations. In later years, he learned fine woodworking and created beautiful furniture for family and friends. Mac became an activist committed to social justice and peace, and served on the boards of the Dallas Peace Center, the Dallas Chapter of the UN and Proyecto Adelante, among other organizations. His longtime desire to fly a glider plane came to fruition just a month before he died. He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Joyce Andrews Hall, daughter Andrea Hall (Dan Zabinski) of Rockville, MD, son Collin Hall of Dallas, and grandsons Andy and Ethan Zabinski. Memorial donations may be made to the Dallas Peace Center, 9120 Ferguson Rd., Dallas, TX 75228 or a charity of your choice.
