OBITUARY HANNUM
MATTHEW DAVID. "He is the best daddy in the whole world", Courtney & Zachary
Hannum. Matthew Hannum, age 31, passed away on Monday, July 15, 2002. He will
long be remembered for his precious gifts to the world, Courtney Hannum 11 and
Zachary Hannum, 6. Matthew was born in Farmers Branch, Texas on July 27, 1970 to
Muriel & Fred Hannum. He was baptized and confirmed at St. Paul Lutheran Church
and graduated from R. L. Turner High School where he excelled in all sports,
especially football and wrestling. He received his Bachelor of Science Degree
from Texas Tech University and was a member of Pi Kappa Alpha fraternity. Upon
graduation he and his wife and daughter moved to Crested Butte, Colorado where
his son Zachary was born. Matthew loved the mountains of Colorado, snow skiing,
spending time and outdoors, country music, and most of all his children. He and
his family moved to Round Rock, TX, where Matthew's happiest times were spend
coaching sports for his children, and spending tie with his family and many
friends in the hill country of Texas, Matthew is predeceased by his mother
Muriel Velde Hannum, and survived by his children Courtney Catherine and Zachary
David who reside with their mother Lauri Hannum of Round Rock, Tx., and his
father Fred D. Hannum, and his brother John Eric Hannum both of Farmers Branch,
Tx., his grand mother Gean Hannum of Dallas, Tx.; his grandparents Mr. and Mrs.
LaGrant Velde of Granite Falls Mn. and Many aunts, uncles, cousins, and loving
friends. Matthew will be interred at Restland memorial cemetery. A memorial
service will be held to celebrate his life at 1:00 P.M. on Saturday, July 20,
2002 at St. Paul Lutheran Church, located at 13605 Webb Chapel Road in Farmers
Branch, TX. The friends of Matthew David have established a trust fund for the
education of his children. Contributions in lieu of flowers may be sent to: Mark
