EVERETT HARRISON
1932 - 2023HARRISON, James Everett As a proud native Texan,
James Everett Harrison of Dallas, Texas, died May 25, 2023, at the age
of 91 after having breakfast in celebrating his 44th wedding
anniversary. James was born at home on January 22, 1932, and died at
home of natural causes. James is survived by his wife, Elaine Hamilton
Harrison, whom he met at Southern Union Company (SUC) in downtown
Dallas. James was predeceased by his father, Everett Harrison; his
mother, Rachel Freiley Harrison; and his younger sister, Doris Ruth
Harrison Ford. James graduated from Carrollton High School in May 1949.
He attended the University of North Texas, graduating in May 1959 with a
BBA degree. He retired from SUC in February 1986. From an employee to a
consultant, James had over 30 years with SUC. His last three years at
SUC, he flew every day, round trip to Austin before airport security
changed in 2011. He earned many rewards and recognitions from flying on
Southwest Airlines. James enjoyed his many accounting positions and
lifelong experiences at SUC that included supervising the accounting
reports and payroll departments, consolidating all subsidiaries and
divisions for year-end reporting to shareholders, SEC filings, internal
monthly reporting, Board of Directors meetings, and financings. After
retiring from SUC, James worked for worked for Kaufman, Munn &
Associates, P.C. and Chase Bank. Elaine and James spent many years
travelling to New York City and other cities, seeing musicals, plays,
operas, and museum art exhibits as well as tourist sights. And, James
accompanied Elaine to many IAAP conventions to various cities across the
USA and Canada. In-between times, they attended Dallas Cowboys games and
many musical, drama, and art events in Dallas and surrounding areas as
well as coordinating and attending families' and friends' holidays and
other celebrations. For over 20 years, they hosted Christmas parties for
their SUC friends at their home. James was a die-hard Dallas Cowboys
fan, attending games at the Cotton Bowl and Texas Stadium, and later
watching the games on television. Other survivors include many nieces
and nephews and great nieces and nephews from the Harrison and Hamilton
Families as well as cousins in south Texas. James also had close and
dear friends from high school, church, SUC, and Chase Bank. A
Celebration of Life is pending. In lieu of flowers, Elaine requests that
in-memory contributions be made to either the UNT Office of Development,
