OBITUARY
In Memory of:
George "Poppy" Arthur Hearn
September 9, 1929 - December 2, 2017
Poppy Hearn, 88, passed away December 2, 2017. He was born in Dallas, Texas to
Jowel Monroe and Lillie Elsie (Schmalriade) Hearn on September 9, 1929.
He joined the United States Army in 1948 and was honorable discharged in 1951.
During his time of service he earned and was presented many medals including the
prestigious Purple Heart.
Preceded in death by both parents, brothers, Joel “Bobby” M. Hearn Jr., Billy J.
Hearn and Paul A. Hearn and sister Gloria J. “Jeannie” Hammer.
Survived by his wife of 57 years, Virginia Hearn; sister, Pauline King;
daughter, Georgina Waugh; sons, George A., Gene A. and Greg A. Hearn; 8 grand
children, 4 great grand children and numerous extended family and friends.
An inurnment with Military Honors at Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery to be
scheduled at a later date. |
