OBITUARY

 

Mark Steven Himelright
1947 - 2010

Mark Steven Himelright, age 62, of East Tawakoni went to be with his Lord and Savior on January 1, 2010, in a Dallas hospital. A celebration of his life will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, January 9, 2010, at Ingram Funeral home in Quinlan with Pastor Ranse Moore officiating.

Mark was born on December 16, 1947, in Dallas. He was the son of Harry L. Himelright and the late Betty Ann Sirbaugh Himelright. Mark attended school in Carrollton and graduated from R.L. Turner High School. He later attended Collin County Junior College for a degree in Business and Psychology.

He also worked as a machinist at TI for many years. He built a Chaparral Distributors business from the ground up and operated it for a number of years. He married the former Miss Burnside Thomas on September 16, 2001, in Lone Oak. Mark was a talented carpenter, plumber and electrician and was presently a real estate investor. He enjoyed metal and woodworking and had a passion for scratch-built scale models.

He won numerous awards for his talent in scale modeling at the Rains County and Hunt County fairs, as well as the State Fair of Texas. Mark was also a member of the NRA and the Masonic Lodge of McKinney. He had an avid love for knowledge of history and enjoyed telling stories.

Mark was an active politician and a political advocate. He was mayor protem for East Tawakoni for fours years and served as mayor for one year. He was on East Tawakoni City Council for four years from 2005-2009. Mark will always be remembered for his adventurous spirit and his compassionate heart.

Brother/Best Friend: Joe L. Craig and wife Jeanie of Lone Oak
Grandchildren: Sean Feazell, Derek Feazell, Steven Feazell, Alexis Palevo, Lauren Palevo, Kelsey Peterson and Mandolyn Peterson
