OBITUARY

ELWIN LeROY HISER
HISER, ELWIN LeROY, Age 81, of Lewisville, Texas. Born on November 19, 1923 in Bradner, Ohio to Ralph and Loleta Hiser. Passed away on May 15, 2005 in Plano, Texas, and ascended into heaven to join his parents, his second wife Shelby Hiser, and his son-in-law James Britton. Elwin, a 1941 graduate of Bradner High School in Bradner, Ohio, served in the United States Navy as a bomber pilot in the South Pacific during World War II, and was recalled to once again serve his country in the same capacity in the Korean War. After returning back to the United States, Elwin became a corporate pilot for Collins Radio Company in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, and was later transferred to Richardson, Texas to continue with Collins and later Rockwell International. Elwin was a member of the Lewisville Bible Church and a past member of the Denton County Republican Mens Club. He also served as an Election Judge and Precinct Chair in Denton County. Elwin was a volunteer for Christian Community Action, Old Town Historical Society, Lewisville Habitat for Humanity, and CASA of Denton County. He was also a past recipient of the Denton County Republican Volunteer of the Year Award. Elwin is survived by his three children, Faye Britton of Richardson, TX, Greg Hiser and his wife Kay of Nacogdoches, TX, and Carrie Hiser of Dallas, TX, Also, four stepchildren, Randy Northrop and his wife, Brenda of Solon, Iowa; Nikki Davidson and her husband Mike of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; Jorji Northrop of Oak Point, TX, and Cynthia White and her husband Todd of Aubrey, TX. Two brothers, Vernon and Glenn Hiser, one sister, Joan Lewis, and nine grandchildren also survive him. Elwin also leaves behind Barbara Stephens, his first love and loving companion in his last years. The family sincerely thanks the many kind people who helped to care for Elwin in his last months, with particular thanks going to Winnie Momberere, and his numerous caregivers. Family visitation will be held on Friday, May 20, 2005 at Dalton & Son Funeral Home from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm. Graveside funeral services will be held on Saturday at 11:00 am at Hilltop Memorial Park in Carrollton, TX, with Pastor Ken Rogers officiating the service. Dalton & Son Funeral Home 1550 N.
