OBITUARY
Dennis
Hogan
May 26, 2025
Mr. Dennis Patrick Hogan, formerly of Terrell and lately of Carrollton,
passed away peacefully on May 26, 2025 into the presence of the Savior
whom Dennis served for all his life. He was born Jan. 24, 1963 in
Dallas, Texas to William and Jo Carolyn Hogan and he was a devoted
husband, beloved son, uncle, cousin, friend and dedicated minister for
so many.
Dennis was a 1981 graduate of Newman Smith HS in Carrollton. On May 17,
1986, he married his best friend and the love of his life, Beverly, at
Webb Chapel Church of Christ. Dennis graduated from the University of
North Texas in 1991 although, in his heart, he was a true Aggies fan.
Living in the Carrollton area, Dennis and Beverly were blessed to know
many people and his servant’s heart was evident every day of his life.
He loved the Lord first and foremost and loved serving people. He truly
lived the words of Jesus in John 13:34 ‘that you love one another: just
as I have loved you’ and many lives were brought to the Kingdom by
Dennis being the hands and feet of Him to others. In 2004, he was called
to become the pulpit minister at Colquitt Rd. Church of Christ and in
2006, he and Beverly made Terrell their home. Dennis immediately became
an active and well loved addition in the community with many civic and
charitable organizations. He was the first to volunteer and the last to
go home from fundraisers, activities and get togethers. Dennis had a
strong presence in the Kiwanis Club of Terrell where his involvement in
the Regional Key Club, Builders Club, and K-Kids influenced countless
adults and students. He was also the “Voice of the Fighting Terrell
Tigers” at Memorial Stadium on Friday nights. His attention to detail in
making sure he was completely prepared to announce players’ names and
numbers correctly was well known and highly regarded. Dennis said, on
many occasions, that he wanted to make sure that the parents and
families attending (on both sides of the field) would have the immense
pride in hearing their student athlete’s name clearly and correctly. A
devoted man of God as well as to his family, the communities he served
and organizations he helped, Dennis will be forever missed and his
memory forever cherished.
He is survived by his wife, Beverly Hogan; his mother, Jo Carolyn Hogan;
father, William Hogan and wife, Mary; step-brother, Larry McCord;
step-sister, Lisa Mason along with nieces, nephews, extended family and
treasured church families.
A celebration of his life will be at 11:00am, Saturday, May 31, 2025, at
Webb Chapel Church of Christ in Farmers Branch, Texas starting where all
are welcome to attend and share the many stories of Dennis’ kindness.
In lieu of flowers, his family suggests that donations be made in his
name to the Belief Center in Canton at www.beliefcenter.org. |
