OBITUARY
Leon "Jack" Hogue Dies Suddenly of Heart Attack
Employee of Cashion Constructors, Had Lived In Carrollton 8
years.
Funeral services were held last Friday afternoon for Jack Hogue, 38, who died
Thursday about noon from a heart attack suffered Wednesday morning.
Mr. Hogue, born in Bosque County, Texas, went to Oklahoma when he was three
years old, and had made his home around Marlow until he was a man. He came to
Carrollton from Hobbs, N.M., eight years ago.
An employee of O. C. Cashion Constructors, Mrs. Hogue said he had worked hard
all day Tuesday mixing concrete, and had gotten up about 5:00 o'clock Wednesday
morning, and while dressing had fallen to the floor. He remained home that day,
although he didn't seem to be feeling really ill. During the day he saw a
physician and was told of his dilemma.
On Thursday morning during a thunder shower and windstorm, he got chilled and
around noon he went with his small son to their mail box, a short distance away.
Arriving at a neighbor's home, Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Fletcher, he stopped to rest.
When the mail carrier arrived. Mrs. Fletcher started to the box, when she heard
Hogue fall inside the house attempting to follow her out.
She called Mrs. Hogue, but he was dying when she arrived never to regaining
consciousness.
He is survived by his wife and three children, Bobbie Laverne, 14; Doris Juan,
10, and Jackie Juan 8.
One sister, Mrs. Dovie Hutchinson, of Marlow, and his father, W. H. Hogue, of
Marlow also survive and were here for the funeral.
The funeral was held in the Union Baptist church, with Rev. Arthur Freeman,
pastor, officiating. Burial was in Forest Lawn cemetery with Rhoton's in charge
of arrangements.
