The Lord called Don home on May 9, 2010 after a long battle with COPD and congestive heart failure.

Don was born in Little Rock, AR on November 3, 1936 to Don and Sibyl Coulter Holiman and spent much of his childhood in San Antonio, TX where his father started Boysville.

Don was a proud member of the US Marines from 1954-1966 and graduated from Dallas Community College and served as a police officer at the Eastfield Campus for 27 years until his retirement in January 1998.

He was married to Mary Holiman Dove for over 20 years and Maxine Taylor until her death in 1998.

Don and Becky were married July 24, 1998 in Carrollton, TX. After moving to Little Elm in 1999 and joined CrossRidge Church in January 2003 were they were active members of the church serving in a variety of areas.

Don was a soldier for the Lord and loved to share his testimony to anyone who wanted to hear - from his days before he found the Lord to those after his dedication to the Lord.

He enjoyed weekend visits from the grandchildren, where their favorite entertainment were Lincoln Logs and Tinker Toys; they would spend hours building entire cities.

Don is survived by his loving wife, Becky Holiman, brothers Richard Holiman (Clearwater, FL) and David Holiman (Corpus Christi, TX), and sister Lisa Crosthwait (Germantown, TN); four children - Marc Holiman (Denton, TX) and Brian Holiman (Plano, TX), Donna Beck and Wendy Holiman (Rowlette, TX) and six step-children - Jimmy McCabe (Allen, TX), Patty McCabe Pries (Dallas, TX), Cheryl Libbert (Little Elm, TX), Eric Enochson (Dallas, TX), Richard Starkey (Sheridan, WY) and Timothy Starkey (Canon City, CO): fifteen grandchildren – Kevin and Eric Beck, Jack and Alyssa Holiman, Evan, Tiffany, Andrew, Kody, Haley and Olivia Libbert, Eric and Nicky McCabe, Stephen and David McCabe, and Zak Starkey and three great-granddaughters – Abby and Allison Beck and Riley Beck.

Funeral services were held May 12, 2010 at CrossRidge Church officiated by Senior Pastor Marc Farnell; he was laid to rest in Furneaux Cemetery, Carrollton, TX.

OBITUARY

Don F. Holiman, Jr, 73, of Little Elm, TX, passed away May 9, 2010, in Denton, TX after a long battle with COPD. He was born November 3, 1936 in Little Rock, AR to Don F. Holiman, Sr. and Sibyl Coulter Holiman. He was a member of CrossRidge Church in Little Elm.

Don was the USMC during 1954-1966 and a graduate of Dallas Community College, Eastfield campus. He retired from Dallas County Community College District in 1998 after 27 years of service as a police officer.

He was preceded in death by his parents and by former wife Maxine Taylor.

Don is survived by his wife, Becky, brothers Richard Holiman, Tampa, FL, and David Holiman, Corpus Christi, TX and sister Lisa Crosthwait, Germantown, TN and children Marc Holiman, Denton, TX; Donna Beck and Wendy Holiman, Rowlett, TX, Brian Holiman, Plano, TX; Jimmy McCabe, Allen, TX; Patty Pries, Dallas, TX; Cheryl Libbert, Little Elm, TX; Eric Enochson, Dallas, TX; Richard Starkey, Sheridan WY; and Timothy Starkey of Pueblo, CO.

Services were held Wednesday May 12, 2010 at CrossRidge Church, Little Elm, TX. In lieu of flowers, donations to CrossRidge Church – Panama Mission are greatly appreciated. (website: http://www.crossridgelife.org/panama.
