WEDDING
 
Miss Mary Helen Terry, Local Teacher, To Wed At Home December 10

Announcement was made this week of the approaching marriage of Miss Mary Helen Terry, instructor in the Carrollton high school, to James Walter Holliday, son of Mr. and Mrs. James F. Holliday, 3609 Bryn Mawr, Dallas. Miss Terry is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. E. O. Terry of Deloache Avenue.
The marriage will take place Tuesday night, Dec. 10, in the home of Miss Terry's parents. Mrs. Gaines Shoults of Longview will attend her sister as matron of honor and Everett F. Fulghum, Arkadelphia, Ark. will be best man.
Mrs. Martin Winfrey will honor Miss Terry with a luncheon Dec 7, and Dr. and Mrs. Maxwell Thomas will entertain with an open house Dec. 8.
Miss Terry received her Bachelor of Arts and Master of Arts degrees at the University of Texas where she was a member of Pi Beta Phi sorority. Mr. Holliday was graduated from Kemper Military Academy and Texas University where he was a member of Phi Delta Theta.

OBITUARY

Mary Holliday

Services were held Monday for Mrs. Mary Helen Holliday, 67, of 92 Wilderness Park, who passed away Thursday in the Sid Peterson Hospital. Rev. Richard Johnson officiated at services in the Grimes Funeral Chapels, and entombment was in the Hill Crest Mausoleum.
Mrs. Holliday, a resident of Kerrville since 1978 and a prior resident of San Mateo, California, was born, August 11, 1916 in Newton. She was a housewife and a member of the First United Methodist Church of Kerrville, a member of the Auxiliary of the Hill Country Arts Foundation, member of the Sewing Circle of the First United Methodist Church, Board of Governors for six years for the Arrownmont, Settlement School in Gatlinburg, Tennessee and Chairman of same this last year.
Survivors include her husband, James W. Holliday of Kerrvile; three daughters, Mary Ann Karlson of Arlington, Lynn Robinson of Johnson City, Tennessee, and Peggy Francis of Bryan; sister, Mrs. Jack. W. Mathis of Burkburnett, and four grandchildren. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, First United Methodist Church, the Pi Beta Phi Settlement School Scholarship Fund, c/o Mrs. J. B. Brineman, One Schreiner Center, Kerrville, Texas 78028, or to the Charity of one's choice.

OBITUARY OF SPOUSE
 
KERRVILLE - Mr. James Walter Holliday, 84, of Kerrville, passed away Wednesday, Feb. 24, 1999, in a Kerrville hospital. Mr. Holliday, a resident of Kerrville since 1978, had lived in Mississippi a good part of his life. He was born on Aug. 4, 1914, in Winters, Texas to James F. and Mabel Fowler Holliday.
He married Mary Helen Terry on Dec. 10, 1942, in Dallas, Texas.  She preceded him in death in March of 1984.
Mr. Holliday served his country faithfully as a second lieutenant in the United Sates Navy. He was a vice president of the mortgage loan department with New York Life Insurance Company, retiring after 25 years.  Mr. Holliday was a member of the Methodist Church and a 32nd degree Mason in Mississippi.
Survivors include three daughters, Mary Ann Karlson of Kerrville, Lynn H. Robinson of Chevy Chase, Md., and Peggy Lemke and husband, Tony, of Kerrville; three grandchildren, Leslie Christine Robinson, Jeffrey Karlson and Jay Karlson; and one great-grandchild, Adam Elliott Karlson.
He also was preceded in death by his grandson in 1997, Sidney Atkinson Robinson IV.
Viewing will be at Grimes Funeral Chapels in Kerrville, on Thursday, Feb. 25, from noon to 8 p.m.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m., Friday, Feb. 26, 1999 at Sparkman Hillcrest Mausoleum in Dallas.
Funeral services are under the direction of Grimes Funeral Chapels of Kerrville.
