OBITUARY

Mae "Joy" Hood
June 02, 1934 - May 06, 2018
Georgia Mae "Joy" Hood, age 83, of Dallas, formerly of Flower Mound,
passed away Sunday, May 6, 2018, in Plano.
She was born June 2, 1934 in Carrollton to George Elmer "Jake" McDonald
and Nora Angeline Keener McDonald. Joy married Perry Ray Hood, Sr. on
October 24, 1952 in Bethany, Oklahoma. Perry Ray preceded her in death
on October 2, 1991.
Joy worked for many years and retired from GTE in 1993. Joy loved
spending time with her sons and her grandchildren. She loved watching
John Wayne movies, a Good Hamburger and chocolate candy.
She is survived by her sons; Perry Ray Hood, Jr. (Alison Hood) and David
Bradley Hood; five grandchildren: David Jr, Chris, Nick, Lauren and
Trenton; and one great grandson: Aiden Timothy. Joy was preceded in
death by her siblings; Betty Lou Voirin, Sarah Harwell and Billy Paul
McDonald.
A service to celebrate Joy's life will be held 10:00 a.m. Thursday, May
10, 2018, at Mulkey-Mason Funeral Home in Lewisville. Interment will
follow at Flower Mound Cemetery. The family will receive friends from
7:00 to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. |
