OBITUARY James Hooper
James G. Hooper, 32, died Sunday, March 21, 1999, at Parkland
Hospital of injuries suffered in a motorcycle accident.
Mr. Hooper was born May 16, 1966.
He is survived by his wife, Anna; daughter Deanna and son Jamesy;
parents, John J. and Frances M. Hooper; a brother, John J. Hooper III; sisters
Lorraine H. Tel and Carolyn H. Cruz; grandmother, Dominica Ragusa; nephews Jesse
J. Hooper, Brandon J. Hooper, Austin C. Teel; nice Jessica Albin.
Funeral services were March 24 at Rhoton Funeral Home Chapel with
the Rev. Doug Fisk officiating.

Collision fatal for
motorcyclist on Josey Lane Carrollton police report
that a motorcyclist died of injuries sustained in an accident at Josey Lane and
Keller Springs Road last Saturday.
According to police, James Gregory Hooper, 32, of Carrollton, was
approaching the intersection in the right hand southbound lane of Josey. A
northbound car driven by Juana Tafolla, 24, of Carrollton, made a left turn,
crossing in front of Hooper's motorcycle.
Police say the cyclist was unable to stop and hit into the right
rear of Tafolla's car. Hooper was wearing a helmet and face shield.
Paramedics were called. They transported Hooper to Parkland
Hospital. The man was taken off life support, and pronounced dead at 3:45 p.m.
last Sunday, March 21.
No charges have been filed. Police found that no alcohol or drugs
were involved in the accident. As a matter of routine, the accident case will be
referred to the Dallas County Grand Jury.

Arrest made in
motorcycle fatality The driver of a car involved in
a fatal accident was arrested last week. Juana Tafolla, 23, of Carrollton,
was charged with manslaughter following a police investigation of an accident
which took the life of James Gregory Hooper, 33, of Carrollton.
Carrollton police say Hooper died of injuries sustained in the
accident at Josey Lane and Keller Springs Road Saturday, March 20.
According to police, Hooper was approaching the intersection in the
right hand southbound lane of Josey. Tafolla's northbound car made a left turn,
crossing in front of Hooper's motorcycle.
Police say the cyclist was unable to stop and hit into the right
rear of Tafolla's car. Hooper was wearing a helmet and face shield.
Paramedics transported Hooper to Parkland Hospital. The man was
taken off life support and pronounced dead on Sunday, March 21.
Based on the report of the investigated officer and witness
statements, police say that Tafolla was aware that the motorcycle was
approaching the intersection. Police say she disregarded the cycle and turned in
front of it, causing the accident and Hooper's death.
Tafolla was booked into Carrollton jail on the manslaughter charge
on March 24. She posted a bond of $10,000 and is awaiting trial. The accident
case will be referred to the Dallas County Grand Jury.
