Paul L. Hornbeck
August 21, 1926 - October 11, 2011
Obituary

Paul Lavern Hornbeck, loving father and devoted husband died on October 11, 2011, after a long battle to regain his health following heart surgery in January. Paul was born on August 21, 1926 in Paris, Texas to his parents William Buster and Essie Mae Hornbeck. Paul was the only son of five children, and was preceded in death by two of those sisters: Ruby Hurley of Denison, Texas and Maxine Harlen of Paris, Texas. Paul attended Paris Junior College and was drafted into the Army where he served in the signal corps in Okinawa, Japan in World War II. After his honorable discharge as a Sergeant, Paul worked at the telephone company and (unknowingly) so did his soon to be bride. Paul was set up on a blind date where he and Bea Wardlaw of Cross Roads, Texas fell in love and were married in November of 1953. Paul attended trade school and began working as a machinist in research and development at Collins Radio in Richardson, Texas and moved to Farmers Branch in 1960 because Paul said it was a beautiful country drive to work through Addison. After 28 years of working as a machinist, Paul retired in 1984 from Alcatel (acquired Collins Radio/Rockwell International) and began working for friends and family designing, repairing, and basically fixing anything and everything that needed fixing. Paul and Bea have worshiped at Webb Chapel church of Christ since 1960 where they made many lifelong friends. Paul will be greatly missed by everyone who knew him, but we know we will see him again one day with Jesus our Savior!

Paul is survived by his wife, Bea of Cross Roads; daughters Patricia Cade (John) of Canyon Lake, Texas, Pamela Gonzales (Paul) of Plano, Texas and Peggy Mosley (Chris) of Coppell, Texas; grandchildren Cassidy Cade, Cheyenne Cade, John Cade, Brandon Gonzales, Blake Gonzales, Bryce Gonzales, Peyton Mosley, and Morgan Mosley; sisters Virginia Linville of Oak Cliff, Texas and Betty Pruitt of Fort Worth, Texas; with numerous relatives and friends.

Arrangements under the direction of Rhoton Funeral Home, Carrollton, TX.
