OBITUARY

Virginia Howell

Funeral services for Virginia Hensley Howell, 75, will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in
Wood-Dunning Colonial Chapel with Wayne Horton of Snyder officiating.

Burial will be in a Carrollton Cemetery at a later date. Local arrangements are
by Lemons Funeral Home.

Mrs. Howell died at 1:58 a.m. Thursday, May 14, 1998, in Prairie House Living
Center.

She was born Virginia Turk on April 9, 1923, in Emit, Okla., where she grew up
and attended schools. She lived in Bartlesville, Okla., and Wichita, Kan. before
moving to Carlsbad, N.M., in the 1950s. In 1973, she moved to Lubbock and served as executive director of The Sherick Home. In 1976 she moved to Plainview.

In 1942 she married Warren G. Hensley. He died in 1973. She married Shelby Howell Jr., on July 16,1976 in Plainview.

Survivors include her husband; a son and daughter-in-law, Hal Warren and Cyndi
Hensley of San Antonio; her daughter and son-in-law, Presha and Harold Simmons of Dallas; her step-son and daughter-in-law, Richard L. and Lea Howell of Dallas; a brother, Monte Turk; three sisters, Neva Lee Mohler, Presha Rains and Patti Quinn; and a sister-in-law, Sue Hensley Tucker; and six grandchildren.

The family suggests memorials to the Alzheimer´s Disease Education Program, Texas Tech University Health Science Center, Room 3A-116, Lubbock, TX 79409, Attn. Kena Dubberly or a note of remembrance to her family at P.O. Box 1969, Plainview, TX 79073.
