Ellis Bates Hughes Jr. (June) was 55 yrs old. June was Texas born to Ellis Bates Hughes and Joyce L. "Saidy Lee" Haley on Thursday the 12th of May 1927, in Farmers Branch, Dallas, TX. He is survived by his sister Elizabeth Marie Hughes Maternowski Burch of Corpus Christy & both of his children.
Ellis married Maurine E Hazelwood in Rockwall, TX on the 1st of August 1948. The couple had two children, Rocky Lee Hughes in 1952 and Michael Carl Hughes in 1953. The couples divorce date is unknown.
Ellis was a commercial artist and spent most of his time between 1953 & 1980, in Huntsville, Texas. However, he did remarry to Mary Ann Klutts, in Denton, Texas, on the 9th of August 1963.
Ellis June Hughes died in Dallas, TX on Sunday the 16th of Feb 1983.
Ellis was preceded in death by both of his parents & His first wife, Maurine Hazelwood Hughes Rushing, who died in an auto pedestrian accident, on Hwy. in Houston, Texas. The accident occurred in the early morning hours, on the 27th of July 1968.
