OBITUARY
 
Mr. Garland Virgil Inzer, born on December 22, 1928 in Altus, Oklahoma, to the late Blanche Esteen Bell Inzer and the late Eugene Franklin Inzer, passed away at age 89 on June 11, 2018 in Plano, Texas. Garland received a BSE in elementary education from Oklahoma University in Norman, Oklahoma and a MSE from UCLA in Los Angeles, California. He served in the US Air Force from 1951-1955. While serving in Denver, Colorado he met and married Francis Lenora Evans, a licensed Registered Nurse from Houston, Texas. After his military service, the young couple moved to Oklahoma City where son Kerry Duane Inzer and daughter Donna Roxanne were born. In 1965 the family moved to Lakewood, California where he taught in Irvine public schools and she worked for the Veterans Hospital in Long Beach. After retirement in California, the family moved back to Oklahoma in 1989. In 2005, they moved to Dallas to be near son Dr. Kerry Inzer.

He was preceded in death by his wife Francis Lenora and daughter, Donna Roxanne Inzer Meyer, brothers Eugene Orin Inzer, Leon Elbert Inzer, and C.W. Inzer; and sisters, Esteen Evelyn Roberts and Anna Madelon Herring. Garland is survived by his son, Dr. Kerry Duane Inzer (Sabra), son-in-law Steven Meyer, and grandchildren Zachary Winston Inzer, Emily Adair Inzer, Samantha Meyer Wanagel (Josh), Stephanie Meyer, Jonathan Meyer (fiancé Kelly). At Hebron Baptist Church, he was a member of the choir, prayer group and Sunday School.
The service, officiated by Steve Smith, is Saturday, June 16, 2018 at 4:00 pm with visitation an hour previous to the service at Hebron Baptist Church, 3000 E. Hebron Parkway, Carrollton. Arrangements have been made Mulkey-Mason Funeral Home with interment following at Perry Cemetery in Carrollton.
