“Marie” Curtis Isham
Birth Date: September 5, 1922
Death Date: September 30, 2016
Bessie Isham was born September 5, 1922 to parents Mack Theodore and
Effie Ellen Pattillo. Marie was preceded in death by husband, C.N. Isham
and two brothers, Joseph and infant, John. She was survived by one
brother, Billy Mack, of (Nassau Bay) Houston, TX. Marie is also survived
by daughter, Linda Bowden of Oak Point, TX; son, Mack Curtis (wife
Linda) of Kaufman, TX and son, Joe Lawson (wife JoAnn) of Oak Point, TX.
Surviving grandchildren are Charna Bowden Jones (husband Chuck), Harold
Bowden, Jamie Curtis-West (husband Bill), Joe Richard Curtis (wife
Keri), and Tracee Curtis Bane (husband Scott). Surviving great
grandchildren are Jacob Shelton, Kyle Jones, Dan’Nelle Bowden, Daily
Bowden, Shelby Francis, Baileigh West and Jhaden Jones. Surviving great
great grandchild is Kara Shelton. Marie was baptized at the age of 15 at
a local rock quarry by the Farmers Branch Church of Christ which had
been founded by three area residents, One of which was her grandfather
Ed Pattillo. She attended grade school and graduated from high school at
Carrollton High School, Carrollton, TX. Marie’s working career included:
Retired from Hunts Electronics as a lead operator/assembler and
supervisor. Volunteered at Lighthouse for the Blind where she was
recognized with the VIP (Visually Impaired Person) Award. This
accomplishment was the result of many volunteers assisting others who
we’re losing or had lost their eyesight. Carrollton Senior Citizen
Center Volunteer. She took so much pride in assisting other Seniors who
had experienced similar life challenges. Marie was a Lifetime member of
the Farmers Branch Chapter of the Eastern Star organization (50 years or
over member). She passed from her earthly home on Friday, September 30,
2016 at 94 years of age. Marie expressed a genuine desire to be
remembered for her deepest love for her Savior, Jesus Christ, and her
family. She was especially proud and thankful for her countless friends
she made throughout her long and exemplary lifetime. Family will receive
friends on Tuesday, October 4, 2016 at 9:00 AM followed by a funeral
service at 10:00AM at Restland Memorial Park Funeral arrangements have
been entrusted to Restland Funeral Home and Memorial Park, 13005
