ARTICLE Jackson Family
To Have Reunion
The Jackson family and all the relatives through marriage will have a
reunion Tuesday at the home of W. C. Furneaux, near Hebron, Denton County.
Wallace Hughston, Collin County attorney, and J. L. Jackson Jr., former manager
Wichita Falls Chamber of Commerce, will speak. Mrs. Beth Sorrel will entertain
with the accordion, and J. Andrew Jackson, 3612 Potomac, will also address the
gathering.
The relatives will be there, the Furneaux family, the Mathis family, the Rev. L.
P. Smith, Dr. C. L. Morey and family, Mrs. A. C. Peeple and her kin, J. W.
Everts and family, the Morgans and the Jackson's, direct descendants of John and
Mary Jackson.
In 1848 John and Mary Jackson came to Texas. Mr. Jackson died in 1866, but his
wife lived until 1894, and was survived by four sons, and two daughters, John
Jackson, Jr., Capt. William Jackson, George Jackson, who will be remembered for
his book, "Texas Pioneers;" Frank Jackson, Mrs. Fannie Furneaux and Mrs. J. H.
Mathis. Of the original Jackson family only Frank Jackson, 5536 Tremont,
is still alive.
