Frank  Jackson, who lives at 5536 Tremont St, Dallas will celebrate his ninetieth birthday Sunday, May 6. This will be a great event and they could not, if they used all the available time from early light to late at night, recount the many exciting experiences in the life of this early settler of Dallas county. Mr. Jackson was born in England and came with his parents and the other members of their family to America and finally were located in the Old Peters Colony.

When the war between the states was on Mr. Jackson served the South and according to a story in the Dallas Morning News, Monday, April 30, Mr. Jackson was wounded at Honey Springs, Ok., in 1863. He recently visited the site with his son J. L. Jackson of Wichita Falls. He located the spot where he fell from his horse when struck by the shell and had his picture taken there in his old uniform. Honey Springs is fourteen miles southwest of Fort Gibson.

When Mr. Jackson holds Open House at his Dallas home next Sunday he is going to have the time of his life for the old day will be brot vividly to mind and the war experiences relived with the few remaining veterans.

While out driving last Sunday we drove past the Jackson place north of town and in our mind's eye we visualized the early days of the pioneer, and gave several thoughts to the experiences of Mr. Jackson and those who, with his father's family, came here to make for themselves a home in the land of the free.

We trust there will be pleasant skies next Sunday and that many of his old-time friends will gather to spend a pleasant hour with the veteran and wish him happy returns of the day.

Pioneers Attend Rites for Frank Jackson, 91
In the presence of his Confederate Army comrades and many pioneer settlers of Dallas County, Frank Jackson, 91, resident of Dallas County since 1848, was buried Wednesday afternoon at Cemetery Hill, near Hebron, Denton County. The Rev. J. J. Morgan and the Rev. Albert Scales officiated.
Mr. Jackson was the only surviving member of the family of Jon and Mary Jackson. His two brothers, John and William, and two sisters, Mrs. Fannie Furneaux and Mrs. Mary Ann Dudley, were all prominent in the early history of Dallas County.
Surviving are four sons, J. L. Jackson, Wichita Falls; Ben C. Jackson, Carrollton; W. V. Jackson, Houston and G. H. Jackson, Dallas; three daughters, Mrs. R. C. Burrows, Houston; Mrs. Grover Wilkins and Miss Hattie Jackson of Dallas.
