OBITUARY

In Memory of
Laura Jeannette James
September 11, 1978 - November 22, 2017

After a 13-month battle with cancer, Laura Jeannette James, 39, of Carrollton, Texas, passed away at home on November 22, 2017. She was born in Dallas on September 11, 1978, graduated from Newman Smith High School and earned her Bachelor's Degree from Texas Tech University. After graduation, she taught 1st and 4th grade before meeting and marrying her husband, Lieutenant Colonel Jason James, United States Air Force. For 8 years, Laura traveled the world as a military spouse helping others in multiple communities adapt to and understand military traditions.

Laura had a true passion for life. Those who had the opportunity to meet her instantly felt a connection. She was fiercely committed to her faith, family and friends, and her smile would liven up any situation. Her unique ability to bring people together will forever be missed.

She is survived by her husband, Jason James, their twin 3-year old girls, Emily and Emma James, her parents Patricia and Davis Maulding, and her brothers, Davis and Mark Maulding.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, December 2, 2017, at Aldersgate United Methodist Church in Carrollton, Texas at 2:30 in the afternoon.

In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Susan G. Komen Foundation , a charitable organization Laura has supported many times throughout the years in partnership with her Zeta Tau Alpha sorority sisters.
