OBITUARY
 
She was born on January 10, 1952 in Paris, TN. She attended The University of Houston and received her Bachelors Degree in Political Science, also receiving her Masters Degree in Government from Texas Woman's University. Finally, Dr. Johnson attended Indiana University and received her PhD in Public Policy.

Dr. Johnson was a true believer in higher education as she extended her knowledge to society. She was a professor at Texas Womans University and Minnesota State University, Mankato where she held a position as Department Chair and recently received the title Professor Emeritus. She was a member of Centenary United Methodist Church in Mankato, MN. Dr. Johnson held several honors during her career. She was Interim Assistant Vice President for Planning, Research and Assessment, Minnesota State University, Mankato; Whos Who Among America Teachers (1998-2000, multiple recipient); Pathfinder Award Recipient (January 2011); Mankato, MN, YWCA Board Member President (2009-2010); Minnesota Council for Quality Board of Evaluators (Present). With a variety of hobbies and interests such as reading mysteries, listening to Classic Country music, gardening, collecting fine china, Barbie dolls and other collectibles, sculptures, African art and Womens art, she made time to volunteer and be a leader in Kiwanis Mankato/YWCA.

This delightful lady will be sorely missed. Dr. Johnson is preceded in death by her parents, Louis and Shirley Braxton and grandparents, Henry and Kathryn Puckett. She is survived by her loving husband, William A Johnson Jr; son, Lawrence C. Johnson; brothers, Byron A Braxton and Louis Braxton Jr.; aunts, Cinda Puckett, Ada Clark and Lillian Williams; uncles, James Puckett and Henry Puckett; sisters-in-law, Joyce A. Potter and Benita A. Johnson; and brother-in-law, Jackie Potter.

The family will accept family and friends for a Viewing at Metrocrest Funeral Home Carrollton, TX on Saturday July 14, 2018 from 10:00 am 11:00 am. A Funeral Service will begin shortly after at 11:30. Interment to follow at Furneaux Cemetery Carrollton, TX.
