OBITUARY

Wanda Johnson

Wanda Johnson, born Wanda Mashburn on May 9, 1941, in Dallas, Texas, passed away peacefully on September 23, 2025, in Frisco, Texas, at the age of 84.

Wanda, known to family as Grammy or Wandy, was a proud Texan through and through. She began her professional journey in clerical work at Parkland Hospital but found her true calling and spent the majority of her career serving the community at the Dallas tax office. Her dedication and work ethic left a lasting impression on colleagues and citizens alike.

A devout Christian, Wanda's faith was a guiding light throughout her life. She cherished time spent with her family, especially when traveling, and found joy in the simple pleasures-crossword puzzles that kept her mind sharp, Hallmark movies that warmed her heart, HGTV remodeling she aspired to do, and the unconditional love of her family's pets. Known for being smart, sassy, and funny, she had a vibrant personality that lit up every room she entered. Never one to shy away from sharing her opinion or celebrating life's moments big or small, Wanda loved a good party and especially delighted in spoiling her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and nieces.

She was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Ezra and Gene Mashburn.

Wanda leaves behind a loving family who will carry forward her legacy: her sister Karen Lockhart; daughter Robin Stadt and son-in-law Rick Stadt; son Larry Johnson and daughter-in-law Teresa Johnson; niece Randi Vallejo and husband Vincent Vallejo; grandchildren Chris Stadt; Megan Delasbour and husband Chris Delasbour; Ashley Howard and husband Eric Howard; great-nieces Angelina Juarez and Genesis Garcia; great-grandchildren Chris Delasbour Jr., Melania Delasbour, Wyatt Stadt, Remy Delasbour, and Ellison Delasbour; and great-great-niece Kehlani Juarez, as well as many treasured cousins and friends such as lifelong friends, Sondra Henderson, Linda Dillingham, and Karen Bruce as well as Ron Mole who always kept her in candy.

A celebration of Wanda's life will be held on Saturday, October 25, 2025, at North Dallas Funeral Home, located at 2710 Valley View Lane, Farmers Branch, TX 75234. The service will begin at 12:00 PM.

Wanda's memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew her. Her laughter, strength, and unwavering love for family remain an enduring gift to those she leaves behind.
