OBITUARY

Frances Johnston Died
Mary Frances Johnston, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. C. A. Johnston of this place, died at the family home Friday evening about 6 o'clock, Jan 4, 1929, death being due to intestinal flu after but a few days sickness from the malady. Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon at 3 o'clock in the Methodist church, and interment made in Forest Lawn cemetery. Rev. D. A. Ross conducted the services, which were simple and touching, and a choir sang some requested music, Mr. Graden Jenkins singing two solos, Mrs. W. L. Martin at the piano, Rhoton & Knight cared for the body.
Mary Frances Johnston was born in Carrollton, Nov. 10, 1910, and slightly over 18 years of age when death claimed her. She has resided in this place practically all of her life and attended the public schools here, but went to North Dallas High School to complete her work, graduating from that school a little over one year ago. She joined the Methodist church about nine years ago and has been most active in the work of the church and Sunday school, having recently been selected as organist. Other local activities she has been connected with, perhaps the one she loved the most was the Glee Club which was organized in the fall. In that body she was a valued worker and threw herself into it with force and showed an aptitude that lent much to the success of the club.
Frances Johnston is survived by her parents and one sister, Margaret Johnston, who was also sick at the time her sister passed away and was unable to be present at the funeral. Besides these there are a great number of other relatives, some who came from a far off to be present at the funeral services. Her grandmother Mrs. J. A. Johnston and Mrs. W. A. Merrill of Shawnee, Okla., arrived just in time for the funeral. Mrs. Ott Gardner of Carrizo Springs, Texas, wa another relative who came from a long distance.
