OBITUARY

ARTHUR RAY "LUCKY" JORDAN
1930 - 2013

Jordan, Arthur Ray "Lucky" Born May 22nd, 1930 in Dallas, Texas. Passed away Feb. 12, 2013 from Alzheimer's. A Lifelong Texan, most of his career was spent in construction. He leaves behind his beloved wife of nearly 54 years, Gaylia Jordan; sisters-in-law, Sybil Jordan, Susan Shamburger and Carol Barrett; brother-in-law Don Shamburger and many loving nieces, nephews and great-nieces and nephews. All shall miss him greatly! Boxing played a big part in Lucky's life. He was involved with Golden Gloves as a young man. He started a boxing club in Farmers Branch in the early 60's which grew rapidly from 3 or 4 boys to more than 90. His goal was to keep boys off the street and to get them into the safer environment of the gym. Special thanks to the caregivers at Evergreen Assisted Living and Comfort Hospice for their care and attention. A memorial service will be held Tuesday, February 26th at 11:00 AM at the Salvation Army Dallas Temple Corps located at 6500 Harry Hines, Dallas, Texas, 75235. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association or The Salvation Army.
