OBITUARY
VERL GENE KENDRICK
KENDRICK, VERL GENE was, born Dec. 3, 1929, in McClain County, Okla. He died Oct
19, 2003. at his home in Dallas after a long and brave battle with cancer. Gene
Kendrick was a truly wonderful and caring human being. To know him was to love
him. He was genuine and kind. To many, he was thought of as a "second father."
Gene was an unassuming man who loved the simple things in life - time with his
family, a good cup of coffee, playing with his grandchildren, and listening to
his son play jazz. Everyone who knew Gene Kendrick admired and respected him.
Gene is survived by his wife, Mary Lou Kendrick of Dallas; his daughter, Anita
Kendrick Fuller of Dallas; his son, William Troy Kendrick of Seattle,
Washington; and two granddaughters, Abby and Emily Fuller of Dallas. He also had
a large extended family who loved him very much - his son-in-law Jeff Fuller of
Dallas; his daughter-in-law Kirsten Kendrick of Seattle; and many other family
members, including some very special cousins. Gene is preceded in death by his
father, Lester, and his mother, Betty. In lieu of flowers and in memory of
Gene's fighting spirit the Kendrick family asks that you make a donation to the
American Cancer Society, the University of Texas M.D. Anderson Cancer Center or
the charity of your choice. Visitation will be Tuesday, October 21, 7-9 P.M.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, October 22, 2003 at 2:00 P.M. at the
Rhoton Funeral Home chapel. Interment to follow at
Hilltop Memorial Park. Dignity
