OBITUARY
Pioneer Carrollton Resident Dies
Mrs. Cora Perry Kennedy, 1407 Rosemon, passed away Friday in a Dallas
hospital after a long illness. She was the daughter of the late J. Hardin Perry
and the late Susan Poor Perry.
Mrs. Kennedy, a native and lifelong resident of Carrollton, celebrated her 91st
birthday June 16. She was a charter member of the First Methodist Church of
Carrollton, the widow of the late Sam Kennedy, who passed away in 1946, and the
mother of the late Marion E. Kennedy.
Mrs. Kennedy is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Olive Owens; sisters,
Mrs. Maude
Johnston, both of Carrollton; Mrs. N. L. Robertson, Farmers Branch; brothers,
Alec Perry, Beaumont. Services were held at 2:30 p.m. Saturday in the First
Methodist Church of Carrollton with Rev. Ken Carter and Rev. Robert H. Ridley,
minister of the Trinity Methodist Church of Dallas, officiating.
Interment was in the Perry Cemetery
in Carrollton. The Pallbearers were Kent Adair, J. E. Johnston, Joe Bailey,
George Jackson, Elzie Tutt and Earl Johnston with the Rhoton Weiland-Merritt
Funeral Home in Charge.
